Mariinsky II Theatre

St. Petersburg, Russia

Project Description

Built to accommodate a 2,000 seat opera and ballet house, the Mariinsky II Theatre was designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects to blend together with St. Petersburg’s rich historic architecture. Crossey Engineering provided the lighting design to the building through our subsidiary, Consullux Lighting Consultants.

Other facility features include six stages and dressing rooms, an acoustically advanced auditorium, and large bay windows that allow natural light to fill the open space.

This project won 2014 IES The Edwin F. Guth Memorial Award for Interior Lighting Design.
